Seems the Village wants to change the law to only allow dogs and cats as "legal" pets. I do not agree with how they are choosing to define "pets".

- I'm originally from Montréal, Québec. Creativity and curiosity is a huge part of my life. I have a Master of Arts in the History and Philosophy of Religion! I'm presently working on a second graduate degree, this time in Clinical Mental Health. I closed my quilt shoppe, Fibre Junction, to start a new life chapter. It was eight wonderful years of indulging in my passion for quilting and education. It is now time to start a new adventure. Will you join me?

That doesn't seem right if you were already allowed to have them. We live around farm land, so horses are allowed too. Here, if land was designated for farm animals, the law stays the same.

Oh no! Chickens make great pets!
Wow. I can't see the video but I read the article. Sounds like you have control freaks like we do -- we're not even allowed to have clotheslines ('cause you know how dangerous they are LOL. I get that people think they're unsightly, but a lot of that comes from unsightly surroundings of which we have none. ;-D) So, although a clothesline doesn't even come close to chickens, I feel your pain. I hope you guys can keep your girls!
I saw the news and just knew it was your girls! How fustrating and how micro managing the Village is. It was a Nice report and how am I going to get my eggs now? You two are definitely going to "lose my money" if they have to go.

Wow.. Something like this wouldn't fly in the UK... So many people have chickens here in an attempt to reduce mass farming for eggs etc. People love being able to have them free range and as organic as they like and take the same pride as they do in growing their own veg. I hope you get to keep your hens
Are your girls the only girls in Champlain? They don´t make so much noise! :(
