If you are into gift stores, Intercourse is definitely for you!
The Kitchen Kettle Village is the place you want to be. You can easily spend a day in Intercourse if not more!
The Kitchen Kettle is actually a store full of amazing home made preserves and pickled what evers. By the way, their pickled beets are out of this world and so is their salsa!
Aside from the Village Quilts, there are numerous little gift shops that make up this unique attraction.
Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to wonder around from shop to shop. One thing about Amish stores, they do close early on Saturdays and of course are closed on Sundays.
Just next to the Kitchen Kettle, sort of behind Zooks Dry Goods is the Country Accents .
They have an array of "country theme" items to decorate your home. Of course I stayed away from that store because I knew I would blow my budget! ;o)
I have visited these places in the past and due to my time restraint, I felt I should forgot these shops and concentrate of the quilt shops.
There are other shops within Intercourse that sell quilts and gift items. One of my all time favourite shop, which is across the street from the Kitchen Kettle Village is The Old Country Store.
What a sweet looking quilt and gift shop.
I was tickled pink when the owner allowed me to photograph not only the store but The People's Place Quilt museum, which is located on the second floor of her shop.
Stay tune for the tour!
Thank you for stopping by! I always enjoy reading your comments!

This is one of my favorite destinations, glad you had a wonderful time! I can't wait to see more...
LOVED reading this post...makes me want to make a return trip there, me, who doesn't even like to travel.
Sounds like a great trip. I would love to see Zooks Dry Goods - I look at their website often. I wonder if one day we will ever get that way --- I really would like to see New York City - so maybe.....
Thanks for the tour!
OH BOY!!! Bring on the photos!!! I'm ready for the tour.

Sharon's becoming a little repetitive, isn't she?! ROFLOL! And maybe I'm just in a goofy mood, but when you start a post saying "Intercourse is definitely for you!" Well, I just get kind of distracted and flushed. I'm thinking you had a great time though! Happy New Year!
If you take that street that goes on the side of the Village quilts up the hill, there's an Amish farm on the right, and a small RV park on the left. That's where we stayed a couple of Aprils ago when I went to the Lancaster quilt show. I love the same places you do! How great that you got to take snaps in the quilt museum!
makes me want to drive over there and spend a day!
I love walking around that town and going in each and every shop.
Your right though you can spend a lot of money there.
One of the things I remember most about the Old Country Store is the solids section...wow if you can't find it there the color doesn't exist!
next time I go I would love to buy 1/2 yard of each color!
yes indeed a trip in the Spring is needed!
