Thanks for the laugh!

Yesterday, I arrived home at 7:45 p.m. after an insane day!

I left home around 10:00 a.m. and arrived at school at 1:15 p.m. I was stuck in traffic for two and a half hours (2 1/2) on the Mercier bridge. Usually I'm at school within an hour. One thing about small town USA, traffic is considered 3 (three) cars at a stop sign. lol Although I come from a large city and am acclimated with traffic jams, I must admit, you loose your patience after living in an area with so little traffic. Of course, it didn't help the situation that I was meeting someone at 12:45 p.m. and could not reach that individual! You can just imagine, after the week I had, I was fit to be tied when I arrived at school!

After class, I felt like quitting school! Enough is enough! I just wanted to cry! So I left for home as opposed to going out for a drink with friends. I really wasn't in a good mood! When I arrived home, I hugged my little girl and settled her in bed for her nightly reading.

I poured myself a glass of wine and started thinking about what I want to do with my life. Wanting to hear the rain falling, I opened the front door and found a package from Amazon. I'm thinking, gosh that was quick, I placed an order for school books a couple of days ago! I opened the package.

I laughed so hard I cried! Cheryl, you made my day! Thank you!

Allow me to explain, a while back my friend Cheryl (from Oz) and I were chatting about manners and how some people just don't seem to have any. She made reference to this book and how great it was. I had never heard of Miss Manners only of Emily Post.

I flipped through and read a few entries and just loved it! She really does have a way with words!

Of course I teased Cheryl, I mean, should I be taking this personally? ROFL

So, if you need any advice on manners, I'm the gal with the reference! lol

Today I'm doing better and I still want to quit school! I was going to forfeit my quilting bee in order to do some school work, but I'm thinking that perhaps I should seek a change of scenery.

I do want to thank you all for your kind words and encouragement! It means a lot to me.

I do hope you are all having a great week! Thank you so much for stopping by!

I have often thought about going back to school and actually getting a degree. Your words have made me think twice about my decision! You will get through this frustrating time, I know, and come through with flying colors.

I think Miss Manners is hilarious - she used to have a column in the paper once a week. I don't know if that still holds true these days. A good laugh can put anything in it's true perspective, don't you think?

What a nice surprise you had there. I don´t know how it is possible to survive in a traffic jam for so long, the longest I have been stuck here is within an hour. You will have to take some days to think this school matter over. Try to take a break and have a quiet weekend.

Carole I am sorry to hear things have been getting on top of you. Wish I could be there to help but I'll just have to send BIG (((HUGS))) instead.
Hang in there. Things have a way of working out and if they don't that's usually a sign of something else waiting for you ahead. :-)

Isn't that so nice to get a little laugh just when you need it :))

School can be difficult but it is the old saying "short term pain for long term gain" I remember the long hard hours of school but time passes so quickly and now it has been almost 17 years ago!! Hang in there, and good things will come out of it in the end :)) I hope I don't sound to "preachy" (((Hugs)))

I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little more upbeat! You know what else might help? A course in the Evelyn Wood Method of Speed Reading! LMAO! Dang it sounds like you have WAAAAAAAYYYY too much reading to do for school, Ms. Carole! But now if you have a nervous breakdown or just throw and old fashioned FIT, you'll know how to do it politely!

Miss Manners is a stitch! I love my copy -- and it's always good for a laugh as well as some brush up on manners. :0) Hang in there -- the whole school balancing with normal life is not easy. It's why I'm taking this year off -- but I know the feeling of wanting to quit. You CAN do it. (and for goodness sake -- don't neglect your bee -- it will help keep you sane!)
