We made it home! I thought I would take a small break from the chores of returning from vacation, the un-packing and cleaning, to touch base with my friends on Blog Land!
It was wonderful to connect with nature. We were quite fortunate as the weather was beautiful. Of course that's only because we decided to buy a tarpaulin ( dh, looking over my shoulder said that I should use the word tarp) this year. Had we not bought this piece of equipment, it would have rained all 5 (five) days! lol
I didn't take any pictures. There really wasn't much to record just lots of beautiful trees all around. We did have a hare that often came for a visit. It was cute to watch him/her eat the vegetation! DD named him Peter. Stephen did try to take a picture but it didn't turn out well.
We also took the canoe and dh and dd went for a row while I sat either by the fire or by the lake side working on my hand applique block. I managed to get all of the Winter Sentry's leaves done and am almost finished with the Baltimore Cousin Block Bowl of Tulips. Had I had the book with me to verify the position of a petal, the block would have probably been done!
I also took the opportunity to re-acquaint myself with hand embroidery. I had brought a couple of designs with me. DD wanted to do some hand work so I taught her how to do the running stitch and French knots! Yes, I remembered how it's done! I guess it's like riding a bicycle! lol You know what that means!?! My kitty will have eyes! lol
I did come home to fun mail. Prior to leaving for our camping trip I placed an order for some Australian magazines with Stonehouse Publications.
They have available back issues of Country Threads. Their shipping cost is quite reasonable and speedy.
They offer various Australian magazines as well as subscriptions, which I will take advantage.
Since I love Christmas, I decided to get their special edition Christmas in July. I haven't peaked at the content yet!
Look what else I ordered!
Yes, back issues of Country Threads Stitchery Edition. Don't they just look delicious?
I am so looking forward to reading and savouring the projects in these issues.
They have the "pre-order" of the newest edition that I will order once it comes in. I am planning on subscribing to this magazine.
So, I shall leave you for now to snuggle in my own bed! Oh, how welcoming it is after sleeping on an air mattress for 4 (four) nights!
Off to savour my treasures!

So glad you're back, been missing your posts. The magazines look full of interesting stuff.
Welcome back! Good to hear you had a nice and relaxing time. I have a couple of the Country Threads magazines as well - they are great to look through. Of course I am still a "looker - not a stitcher" LOL
Welcome back. Glad you had such a nice time.
Enjoy your bed and your magazines and linger long :-)
I've missed you!! What a great surprise to come back to 'reality' to. Have fun...
Those magazines look neat. (Do you see the star in a Dresden plate? Top Stitchery magazine. Is that a pattern, or just eye candy? I'd love to see a picture of the whole quilt...)
Welcome home! Sounds like you had a nice, peaceful vacation.
I love those magazines...they are my all-time favorites. Thanks for the link...I'm going right over.
Welcome home! Glad you had a nice trip.

But, now you did it. You sent me to Stonehouse Publications and I had to order the 3 back issues of Australian Country Threads Stitchery issues they have available. Their prices are reasonable and so was the shipping. Thanks for the great shopping tip.
Fun mail. I have been wanting to subscribe to Australian Homespun for awhile now. First I am going to check out that website and see if I can find a few magazines to order. Thanks.
Nice to hear you had a great time and nice to see you back. You put me on something there. I have just ordered some older Country Threads on Ebay! Take care.
Those magazines look like such fun! I can't wait to see what you decide to do wtih the patterns you find! And thanks for the reminder that I need to prep some new embroidery soon!
